Drywall Repair in Seattle, Bellevue & Kirkland

Drywall Patching, Repair, and Painting

Most drywall damage in homes is pretty minor. A door handle through the wall. A nail hole that grew into a fist-sized gap. A patch from where a plumber went in and never fully finished. Minor stuff – but it looks wrong, and it stays wrong until someone deals with it properly.

We handle drywall repair as a standalone service or as part of a larger interior painting project. Holes, cracks, dings, water damage, tape seams that have bubbled up, corners that have been bumped too many times. Levels 1 through 5 depending on what the surface needs and what you’re planning to do with it.

The part that most patch jobs skip is the texture match. Smooth drywall is straightforward. Textured walls require matching the existing finish – skip trowel, orange peel, knockdown – so the repair disappears rather than announcing itself. We do that work before paint goes on.

We serve homeowners throughout Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and the surrounding Eastside. Free estimates on every project.

What's Included in Our Drywall Repair Service

We handle the full range of drywall repair and patching – from small holes to large damage sections. All work is finished and ready for paint.

Hole and Crack Repair

Small to medium holes from hardware, anchors, door handles, and general wear. We use the appropriate patch method for the size - California patch for smaller areas, backer-and-patch for anything larger. Tape, mud, sand, and texture match before prime.

Water Damage Repair

Water stains, softened drywall, bubbled tape, and ceiling damage from leaks above. We assess the extent of the damage, remove compromised material, dry the area if needed, and replace properly. We also apply stain-blocking primer before paint to prevent bleed-through.

Texture Matching

The part most patch jobs get wrong. After the drywall is repaired, the texture has to match the surrounding wall - skip trowel, orange peel, knockdown, or smooth. We match the existing finish so the repair blends in rather than being obvious under paint and light.

Level 5 Finish

Level 5 is a skim coat applied over the entire surface - walls or ceilings - to create a perfectly smooth, flat finish with no visible tape lines or fastener dimples. The right choice for high-gloss paint, strong side lighting, or any space where you want a truly flat surface. We do this on new construction and on existing walls being upgraded.

Full Drywall - Hang, Mud, and Tape

New additions, remodels, or spaces that need full drywall from scratch. We hang, tape, mud, sand, and texture. Painting follows in the same project scope if you're ready for it.

Repair and Paint

The most common request - patch the damage and paint the wall or ceiling so everything matches. We handle the full scope in one visit: drywall repair, texture match, prime, and two finish coats. Ask about combining this with our full interior painting service if you're repainting the room at the same time - one crew, one schedule.

Free estimate

we walk the space with you, talk through the scope, and give you a clear quote. No vague ranges.

Surface prep

fill cracks, sand rough areas, tape everything that needs protecting, prime where needed. This is where quality starts.

Paint application

two coats on walls and ceilings in most cases, with cut-in work done by hand for precision near trim and corners.

Trim and detail work

we treat trim separately because it deserves it. Careful taping, clean application, finished edges.

Cleanup and walkthrough

we clean the space, remove tape, and walk through the finished work with you before we pack up.

Warranty

every project comes with up to a 2-year workmanship warranty. If something isn't right, we fix it.

Our Interior Painting Process

There are no surprises on a job site when everyone knows what to expect. Here’s how we run every interior project:

Interior Painting for Seattle-Area Homes

Homes in the greater Seattle area have their quirks. Older craftsman and Tudor-style homes in Bellevue, Kirkland, and Edmonds have detailed millwork that requires careful prep and taping. Newer construction in Redmond and Sammamish tends toward open floor plans with long continuous walls — color consistency and proper rolling technique matter more there.

Interior humidity is another factor. Bathrooms and kitchens in the Pacific Northwest see more moisture-related paint issues than in drier climates. We use appropriate primers and finishes for high-moisture rooms and can walk you through sheen options that hold up better over time.

We serve homeowners in Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, Seattle, Woodinville, Bothell, Shoreline, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Sammamish, Issaquah, Mercer Island, and across the Eastside.

Why Drywall Repair and Painting Should Happen Together

Hiring a handyman to patch a hole and then a separate painter to paint the wall sounds efficient. In practice, it usually means two scheduling windows, inconsistent texture work, and a patch that doesn’t quite match even after paint goes on.

We handle both. The same crew that repairs the drywall primes and paints the wall. That means the texture match is done with the finish coat in mind, the primer is applied correctly over the repair, and the paint coverage is consistent across the whole surface.

This is also why our drywall repair service pairs naturally with interior painting projects. If you’re already repainting a room or a few rooms, getting the drywall addressed in the same visit is more efficient and produces a better result. And if you’re dealing with ceiling texture from a popcorn removal, our popcorn ceiling removal service covers that scope as well.

We handle drywall repair throughout:

  • Seattle – north Seattle, Capitol Hill, Shoreline, and surrounding neighborhoods

Small hole repairs typically run $150-$300. Medium patches, water damage, or texture matching on larger areas run $300-$800. Full drywall replacement for a wall or ceiling section starts higher and depends on square footage. We give itemized estimates - the number on paper is always more accurate than a range.

Yes. Texture matching is a core part of our repair process. We identify the existing texture type - skip trowel, orange peel, knockdown, or smooth - and match it before prime and paint. A repair that doesn't match the surrounding texture will always be visible, especially under raking light. We don't skip this step.

We offer both. We can repair only and leave the surface primed and ready for your painter. We can also handle the full scope - repair, texture match, prime, and paint. Most homeowners choose the full scope because it produces a cleaner result and avoids a second scheduling window. Ask about it during the estimate.

Yes. Water damage repair involves removing the compromised drywall, addressing the moisture source first (we'll flag it if we see active moisture), replacing the material, retaping, mudding, sanding, and applying stain-blocking primer before paint. If the source hasn't been fixed, new drywall won't last. We assess that during the walkthrough.

Level 5 is a full skim coat applied over the entire wall or ceiling surface - not just over seams and fasteners. It creates a perfectly smooth, flat finish with no visible texture variation. Required for high-gloss paint applications and recommended anywhere strong side lighting will reveal imperfections in a standard finish. It costs more and takes longer, but for the right space it's the correct call.
